Where is your favourite spot on the Sussex coast? Is it the beautiful sands at West Wittering, the stunning views from Eastbourne pier or Brighton's promenade?
Where is your favourite spot on the Sussex coast? Is it the beautiful sands at West Wittering, the stunning views from Eastbourne pier or Brighton's promenade? For me it has to be Camber and its vast expanse of rolling dunes - I can remember having great fun building sand castles there when I was young. Whatever your favourite, there are so many great locations along the county's coastline that it would be difficult to cram them all into one summer, let alone one magazine. But writer Liane Oldham has tried and come up with a fantastic guide starting on page 107. Whether you're looking for the best places to bathe, surf, walk or take the kids you'll find it all. While you're there you'll also need somewhere to eat and so we've also picked out some of the best restaurants for you to choose from. Jonathan Keeble Click here to view The editor's blog
If making the most of the coast doesn't keep you busy enough, there are also some must-see events planned this summer and you'll find a great selection in this issue. Opera starlet Katherine Jenkins is interviewed on page 87 ahead of her performance in Haywards Heath, we preview the Cowdray Park polo Gold Cup with all its glamour and celebrity on page 91 and there's a quick guide to the Goodwood Festival of Speed on page 122. You will also find a great selection of activities and events in the Diary beginning on page 221.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has taken advantage of our new text messaging service. You can use it to send us your views on articles as well as enter our competitions - just look out for the T symbol througout the magazine.
Here's to a busy July and enjoy your Sussex Life!
