What says Sussex to you?

If you had to pick one spot in Sussex that epitomised the county, where would you choose? (OK, the chances of you ever actually being forced to pick are slim but bear with me) ..

What says Sussex to you?

If you had to pick one spot in Sussex that epitomised the county, where would you choose? (OK, the chances of you ever actually being forced to pick are slim but bear with me)

Would it be Ditchling Beacon, Devil's Dyke or Chichester Harbour? As a relative newcomer to the county having moved here ten years ago, I've had the great pleasure in discovering these and many other beautiful places that Sussex has to offer, but is there one that truly represents the county? I have a feeling the South Downs would get quite a few votes in any poll along with the Royal Pavilion or the Long Man of Wilmington but for me, it has to be the Trundle at Goodwood. Sussex Life photographer Kate Eastman, along with a little help from some locals, has assembled

a list of iconic Sussex beginning on page 68 and as ever,we welcome your thoughts, views and even disagreement.

As we've mentioned before in these pages, the county also boasts a huge pool of talent. Whether it's performers, writers, scientists or clergy we have a great number in these parts.
And so, for the second year running we are pleased to bring you the latest instalment from Who's Who and in particular the names from our region who make it into this year's bible of the need to know. Turn to page 75 to see who are new this year as well as an interesting reaction to his inclusion from astronomer Sir Patrick Moore.

One Sussex resident who stands a pretty good chance of making it into next year's edition is Julie Graham. The Scottish-born actress and star of the BBC series Survivors,
as well as ITV's William and Mary is fast becoming one ofthe best-known faces on TV. She met up with writer Angela Wintle recently to explain how she's made it so good and finally found contentment in her personal life. You'll find
the interview beginning on page 62.

Enjoy your Sussex Life.
