Ian Bishop from Southwick is playing the dame, Sarah Suet, in Southwick Players’ production of Dick Whittington (directed by Ron Common).

It is the fifth time he has played dame for Southwick Players. Ian is their longest-serving acting member and has taken part in numerous plays and pantomimes over the years.

Southwick Players formed in 1935 and, apart from the war years, have put on regular productions ever since. A number of venues have been used over the years but since its opening in 1951, The Barn Theatre, Southwick has been the Players’ home.

Dick Whittington is being staged between 3 and 10 January at The Barn Theatre. Tickets are from £8 to £13. More details at
