Prince Williams is likey to be awarded a title upon his marriage

Traditionally, royal men receive a title upon their marriage - Prince Andrew became the Duke of York, while Edward was made the Earl of Wessex despite experts suggesting he was likely to be awarded the Dukedom of Sussex.


The Queen is expected to award William a Dukedom, with possible titles including the Dukedoms of Clarence, Connaughtor Sussex!


On hearing the news of the royal engagement the Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex, Mrs Susan Pyper, commented: This is wonderful news for the country and for the people of West Sussex. I am sure everyone will want to pass on their very best wishes to the happy couple and wish them a long and happy life together
