On Friday 14 November, a group of avid bakers from Southern Housing Group helped raise nearly £250 by holding a bake off in support of the BBC’s Children in Need charity fundraiser.

Ten bakers from the Group’s Spire Court office in Horsham donated their time and skills to make cakes, muffins, biscuits and a range of other baked goods that were sold to colleagues for a donation.

Organiser and Finance Officer at Southern Housing Group, Sarah Lear, said that uniting for the cause really helped to bring people across the Group together.

“Children in Need is a great charity that does so much good work for kids around the country,” she said.

“I think that because Southern Housing Group is a charity, people here are really willing to get behind good causes, which is why we had such a good turnout and why so many people got involved.”

The bake sale was such a success that BBC Sussex showed up on the day, doing a live cross to the event on the morning programme.
