Over £200,000 raised for Great Ormond Street at this year's Glorious Goodwood

Five days of Glorious Goodwood came to a close last weekend. During the festival over £200,000 was raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital

Goodwood staged two major fundraisers over Glorious Goodwood includingits inaugural ladies' charity race, the Magnolia Cup. The race, on Thursday 28 July, saw the likes of Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox, model Edie Campbell and Channel 4 Racing presenter Emma Spencer takepart to support the hospital. Many of the competitorshad been training for months to take part. ModelEdie Campbell took the honours in front of the packed crowd.


On Wednesday nightthe Goodwood Balltookplaceatthe home of The Earl and Countess of March. Over 500 guests enjoyed the stunning venue and delicious food, with a set from American singer-songwriter Courtney Love.


Great Ormond Street Hospital is the UKs leading childrens research hospital and one of the top four centres of excellence for paediatrics in the world.Adam Waterworth, MD of Goodwood Racecourse commented, I am thrilled that such a significant amount of money was raised for such as worthy cause like Great Ormond Street. It is great that as a racecourse we can not only stage some great racing, but support charities that work tirelessly to help those in need.
