A popular annual Spinathon took place at Virgin Active Brighton on Saturday 12 March where Hurstpierpoint resident Nadia Bushell and her family were raising money for the The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Sussex charity the Starr Trust.
The event ran from 8.30am - 5.30pm with lots of raffles and fun prizes throughout the day and non-members of the sports club that attended were able to use all the facilities for free. Hundreds of people came along and joined in the hourly spin sessions which made the day a huge success.
Nadia from Hurstpierpoint, whose young daughter was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, wanted to find a way of thanking The Royal Marsden for their amazing support at such a difficult time and decided to team up with the Starr Trust for the second year running, as they also help young people by providing grants and mentoring that make a world of difference.
All the proceeds from the event went to the Starr Trust and The Oak Centre for Children and Young People, based at The Royal Marsden in Sutton.
