Thirty of Worthing’s best local swimmers were recognised at an awards ceremony this weekend at Worthing’s Splashpoint Leisure Centre.

Specially-selected from 1500 active Aquaschool members, the winners had to show they were top of the class, but not just because they’re fastest or have the best technique.

Key skills considered for an award include exemplary attendance, enthusiasm and great sportsmanship. Several swimmers battled to overcome their fear of water to become proficient swimmers and well-deserved award-winners.

Each nominee received goodie bags and a certificate whilst a 6-month FIT4 membership was awarded to the overall winner.

Paddy Winters, Aquaschool organiser and coach from Splashoint said;

“All 30 talented swimmers have been nominated as Aquaschool Achievers for showing brilliant skills and should be very proud of themselves. I am looking forward to discovering next year’s award-winners!”

Aquaschool’s successful swimming club organise many exciting challenges throughout the year. Pupils are rewarded for their swim-success, logging progress within a unique Record of Achievement.
