Conservationists at Sussex Wildlife Trust invite you to get back to nature by joining their campaign, 30 Days Wild

A great opportunity to engage with nature during the whole month of June is only a website away. Just visit www.wildlifetrusts.org/30DaysWild to discover hundreds of quick and simple actions you can do to make nature an integral part of your everyday life.

Our wallchart and pack will certainly get you thinking about ways to connect with nature for a few minutes each day but we also have a packed programme of wild events and courses suitable for all ages during June.

For children, we are running half term holiday clubs and wild adventures in the woods: making a den, pond dipping and hunting for bugs in the undergrowth.

We have an interesting series of walks on our nature reserves including a stroll around Burton Pond at Petworth followed by a cream tea, a fascinating heathland walk, one of our rarest habitats, at Iping Common near Midhurst and a morning at Rye Harbour Nature reserve our largest reserve, home to thousands of wading birds, ducks and other wildlife.

Or maybe you’d like to try your hand at nature photography, sculpting clay wild creatures, learning how to create a mini wildlife meadow or discover the secret, fascinating lives of beetles, bugs, dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies or moths.

A day out at a garden is perfect for all the family so why not join us for a secret adventure on 23 June as part of your 30 Days Wild and visit the private gardens of a life member of Sussex Wildlife trust near Warninglid, West Sussex. Stroll past the willow plantation and fruit cages, discover local wildlife in the grand bug hotel and enjoy the most stunning views towards Ditchling Beacon. Apart from meandering through the large wild flower garden, you can also take part in a tour of an innovative, low energy heating system, smell your way through the herb garden and see the unique wildlife around a set of ponds created with harvested rainwater.
