Calling all pirates!
6 August

Shiver my timbers! The East Sussex town of Hastings could soon be awash with brigands and sea dogs for Pirate Day as the town attempts to set a world record for the largest gathering of pirates in one place. Taking place during Hastings Old Town Carnival Week (31 July to 8 August), the gathering will be on the beach at 1pm.

Free child tickets at the Kent & East Sussex Railway
The railway is offering up to three free child tickets with every adult rover ticket purchased (12.80) between 26 July and 22 August. Tickets include a return journey to Bodiam station, departing from Tenterden station at various times each day.

Airbourne at Eastbourne
12-15 August

Airbourne is the worlds biggest free seafront airshow and this year offers another action-packed event. The programme will feature crowd favourites the Red Arrows as well as the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the F16 and Blades and the Breitling Wingwalkers plus lots more action on the ground for all the family. Worthing International Birdman Competition
14-15 August
This event on Worthing Pier is one of the highlights of the summer in Worthing and is great entertainment for all the family, attracting serious competitors who compete in two classes; the Condors fly modified hang gliders and the Leonardo da Vinci competitors pilot craft that have been aerodynamically designed and built.
