Wine and cheese evening at The Kings Arms, Fernhurst

The Kings Arms at Fernhurst played host to more than 70 guests from a variety of local businesses at their first wine and cheese tasting event.
Australian wine connoisseur Claire Scott dArenberg, of McLaren Vale, South Australia, guided an attentive audience through eight delicious wines ranging from light and lively whites to full bodied reds with quirky names such as The Hermit Crab Viognier Marsanne and The Love Grass Shiraz.
Claire entertained the room for over an hour with her lively repertoire of fun stories behind the names and the winery. To complement the wines array of tantalising flavours, a selection of delicious local cheeses was matched to bring out the best of both.
The cheeses the golden Mayfield, the smooth and creamy Sussex blue, the rich, full-bodied Sussex Charmer with its extra zing and the delicious Sussex Camembert, were kindly provided by the Kings Arms supplier, Ellis Food Services, and were produced by local artisan cheese makers, Alsop & Walker.
