Alex, 13, launches inspirational book at Worthing's Ardington Hotel
The book launch of The Heaven Flower by St Andrews pupil Alexander Warne at Worthings Ardington Hotel was no ordinary event.
Leukemia survivor Alex, now 13, was seven when he wrote a story about losing his grandad. He wants to help others deal with loss and bereavement, and inspire youngsters to discover a positive outcome despite adversity.
The launch attracted an impressive line-up of guests, including local MP and Under Secretary of State for Children and Young Families Tim Loughton and representatives from the council, schools, bookstores, funeral services, churches, businesses and charities, including Families4Children, Teenage Cancer Trust, Over The Wall, Cruse and Chestnut Tree House.
