NUNS at the Monastery of the Visitation, Foxhunt Green, near Waldron in East Sussex, celebrated 400 years of their Order with a tree planting ceremony.

The Roman Catholic Bishop of Arundel and Brighton the Rt Rev Kieron Conry planted the tree with the Mother Superior Sister Jane Margaret. Other guests included friends and family of the Sisters, including old girls of St Gregory Girls Comprehensive in Kirkby, Merseyside, which Sister Jane Margaret used to attend.

The Order of the Visitation is the largest Order of Roman Catholic nuns in the world.
