From Medieval Markets to Morris Men

A special free festival celebrating all things English takes place on Saturday 7 May in Horsham Town Centre featuring dance and music around the town, plus a special medieval market with local food, drink and Sussex crafts.

Aspecial free festival celebrating all things English takes place on Saturday 7 May in Horsham Town Centre featuring dance andmusic around the town, plus a special medieval market with local food, drink and Sussex crafts.


Based around the well-established Day of Dance (now in its fantastic 18th year) and organised by the local Broadwood Morris Men, the Day of Dance is a free event which regularly attracts 20 or more sides with dances at locations across Horsham Town Centre.


The dance teams mostly perform traditional English dances such as Morris (Cotswold, North West and Border), Step Clog and Sword.


The Morris dancers start at 10.30am with a procession through the town and perform throughout the town centre until 4.30pm


Saturdays market goes Medieval with additional stalls featuring local brewers and cider makers, a hog roast and traditional cockles and whelks.
