This years Airbourne promises to be more spectacular then ever, with dazzling displays of aerial agility on show for free for everyone from 11-14 August.

The Red Arrows lead a long weekend of aerobatics by military and civilian aircraft at this months free event Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow.

Highlights include the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, The Blades, Breitling Wingwalkers and, new for this year, helicopter displays from the Royal Navy Black Cats. On the ground, adrenaline-filled arena displays include the Marines Unarmed Combat team and canine stunts by Essex Dog Display Team, while the RAF Exhibition and trade stands offer plenty to see and do in between displays.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure Cllr Neil Stanley said: We are delighted to welcome to the show displays from the Royal Navy who have been missed for the past couple of years, as well as celebrate the best of the RAF with displays by the Tucano, Tutor, Hawk, Tornado and of course, the magnificent Red Arrows who will zoom through the skies on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
To prolong the festive atmosphere into the evenings, Airbourne 2011 includes evening concerts and a spectacular firework finale.

On Friday, night flying is accompanied by music and, new for this year, Saturday Night at the Movies features an open-air film screening on the Western Lawns.

The public have been asked to vote for their favourite film via the Visit Eastbourne and Airbourne Facebook pages.

Four big outdoor screens will show pilot interviews, commentary and live streaming of the displays, giving visitors the opportunity to interact with the event by texting to screen. Prospective pilots can even take to the skies themselves by joining one of the helicopter pleasure rides leaving Beachy Head each day.
