Staff and parents from Demelza Hospice Care for Children say they are honoured to be the beneficiaries of the first ever audience participation Carol Concert held at Glyndebourne.
The concert, at the end of last year, saw Counterpoint Arts, under the direction of Anna Colls, provide the choir and musical accompaniment. Readers included Demelza Trustee, Deborah Clayton-Hatfield and director of fundraising, James Hanaway. Former X-Factor finalist Ben Mills treated the audience to his rendition of Silent Night at the piano.
A collection was held following the concert and more than 3,000 was donated, with the total amount raised from the concert looking to be in the region of 10,000, all of which will go directly to the children who use the services provided by Demelza.
