Watch out for dinosaurs at this Sussex-themed natural history museum at Paradise Park Garden Centre – there are life-sized replicas at every turn, endless educational displays plus large play areas.

Seaford Museum

Victorian domestic and wartime memorabilia are hidden beneath a Martello Tower at the east end of the beach. There is also a working model of the train station circa 1926. Open Sundays and bank holidays through the winter.

A great option for rainy days, it has a large collection of antique toys in the Wizard’s Attic, one of the largest craft displays in the country, plus regular hands-on activities for children. Entrance is free.
