Twenty teams entered the 2010 Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the 22 goal British Open Polo Championship in Cowdray Park Polo Club's Centenary Year with the four week long tournament culminating in an exciting and high scoring Final on 18th July.

Upwards of 15,000 spectators crowded round the world-famous Cowdray Lawns at Midhurst to see Dubai beat Lechuza Caracas 14-12 in the Final of the 22 goal Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup for the British Open Polo Championship.
Playing for Dubai was the world's greatest 10 goal player, Adolfo Cambiaso, who first played at Cowdray Park in 1991 at the age of 16, already then playing off 7 goals. He certainly didn't disappoint the crowd, making 9 of the tally of 14 goals his team notched up. Playing for Lechuza in his second Gold Cup was Max Routledge from Wormley, Surrey, only 19 years old and a brilliant young polo player, rider and breeder.
As well as world class polo and the opportunity to picnic in the sunshine, a shopping village offering over 90 glamorous trade stands,Veuve Clicquots Champagne Garden and Petanque pitch, bars, food outlets including the Argentine BBQ, and a funfair for the children kept everyone happy at one of the countys most stylish and exciting sporting occasions. Celebrity spotting during the half-time tread-in just added to the fun.
