In order to escape prison, Randle Patrick McMurphy is ready to do anything, including simulating madness. McMurphy is no angel, but the freewheeling gambling man with a zest for women brings vigour, life and chaos into the sterile, conformist and totalitarian environment of the mental institution, and starts to defy the implacable authority of Nurse Ratched. In doing so, he gradually restores to the other patients the dignity and voice they had given up.

The site-specific production of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is a unique event set over three floors of The Happy Cell (a natural health centre). On arrival, the audience members are checked into Oregon Asylum, given wristbands and overshoes and ushered around the building by stewards. Although not participating, the audience will be interspersed between the action to feel like they are really inside the asylum, watching the plot unfold to its bitter end.

There are plenty of opportunities to watch this over the month long festival .For more see www.tanglehead.co.uk
