Annabel Giles was the original posh rock-chick in the 80s. As the face of Max Factor and the wife of Midge Ure, she lived a life of great luxury. Then, matching beauty with brains, she became a prime-time TV presenter, appearing in such shows as Posh Frocks and New Trousers, Help Squad, Hit the Road and an array of television and radio panel/quiz/game shows. Her live interactive one-woman show Looking For Mr Giles was a sell-out success in 1997 in both the UK and Australia.
In 1999 her life changed dramatically when she gave birth to a child with special needs and 2 weeks later found herself a single mum. With breathtaking honesty she recently wrote for the Daily Mail about living on benefits in Brighton.
Now after eleven years of devoted motherhood, shes returning to the brave new world of digital TV, where the only familiar face is Vanessa Feltz.
Annabel Giles will be performing Upstairs at Three and Ten, 10 Steine Street, Brighton, on 1st, 15th, 22nd and 29th May from 8-30pm. Tickets are from 7-50. Suitable for ages 15 upwards
