A grand kitchen
We have a grand open space with high ceilings which wed like to turn into a luxurious open plan kitchen and living space. Where can we find a kitchen to suit?
For rooms with generous proportions, bespoke furniture can provide a very elegant design solution, says Andrew Mitchell, designer at Clive Christian Handcross.
The Architectural kitchen by Clive Christian, features a central island with concealed tall refrigerators and wine coolers set into the wall. High cabinets balance the tall coffered ceiling and an archway leads through to an open plan family room in the same design style. The furniture is hand painted in Ivory, with a light British Antique grey glaze.
The dramatic contrast between the painted furniture and the dark wood flooring is well suited to a large open space which has also been employed in the lounge with the addition of a hand knotted wool rug. The use of black walnut with accents of silver, soft furnishings in tones of ivory, muted grey wallpaper, and silk lined panelling along, all lends to a luxurious feel.
Chandeliers with black crystals are part of the companys own lighting range, available from Clive Christian Handcross: 01444 401277.
A decorative screen
Im looking for a decorative shower screen as opposed to a plain glass one. Do these exist?

They make a range of glass products from one off art commissions to partition screens for private and public spaces. They have also recently launched a new range of designer shower screens inspired by coastal locations around the world, from Tofino, Canada, to Casablanca, Morocco.
Their frameless shower screens are available in four sizes with a choice of six colour tints of clear, blue, green, bronze, grey and lo-iron. All are made from 10mm toughened safety glass and come with a brushed stainless steel re-enforcing bar and channel.
They also make magnificent wall art, glass doors and kitchen surfaces all available in a huge range of textured and/or coloured glass an instant way of achieving wow factor in the bathroom.

Weve painted our hallway and stairs bright white, where can we find a smart carpet and stair runner that will introduce some colour?
Stair runners create a much more tailored finish than a staircase thats simply carpeted over. A runner in a distinct, vibrant pattern creates a welcoming feature and co-ordinating it with your carpet can also lead your eye through the home, creating links from one space to another.
My first port of call would be to look at some of the ranges by Brintons. Each runner is a woven Axminster made from 80 per cent wool and 20 per cent nylon and designed for heavy domestic use. They carry a range of modern and classic designs including floral, striped and plains with a patterned border. Create a work of art on your floor with Peach Bazra or Green Palmette from the Renaissance range or Parterre Blue Broadloom from their Classic Florals collection. These can also be paired with co-ordinating broadloom carpets in matching plain colour (available at Fludes Newhaven 01273 513573, Eastbourne 01323 500537, Haywards Heath 01444 412242, Hastings 01424 445991).
