With late-night shopping, fairs, Christmas markets and plenty of food and drink, we’ve rounded up some of the best festive offerings in Sussex
South of England Showground - 23-24 November
The South of England Showground is transformed into a winter wonderland. Highlights include a plethora of artisan goodies, food/drink and lots of unique gifts ranging from wooden toys to cashmere fashion. Adults £6.50, concessions £5.50, under 16s free with a paying adult.
Horsham - From 1 December
Taking place across multiple dates in December (see the website for details), Horsham's Christmas market offers up plenty of festive entertainment and live music along with a good range of food, drink and gifts.
Petworth - 7 December
Make your way to Market Square, Leconfield Hall, Lombard Street and the High Street and enjoy entertainment, meet Father Christmas and watch the live nativity. The Christmas lights will be switched on at 6pm.
Rye - 7-8 December
An ever-popular Christmas event, Rye's Christmas Festival kicks off on the Saturday and is sure to be full of delightful festivities, with the popularity of the event resulting in some events being pushed back to the Sunday.
Chichester - 7-15 December
Running through North and East Street, this year's Chichester Christmas Market provides visitors the opportunity to pick up some unique gifts for loved ones, as well as being able to enjoy a festive tipple or two.
Eastbourne - 19-22 December
Taking place along the pedestrianised precinct of Terminus Road, this market celebrates the festive period with local produce, artisan crafts and plenty more handmade items.
