The Royal Oak is more than just a village pub it offers some of the finest food available in the area. Our new Head Chef Daniel Ward joined us last October from Sumas in Jersey where he built a 3 AA Rosette reputation.

He takes delight in using the best local ingredients and cooking them to perfection producing dishes that retain distinct and subtle flavours with combinations that are creative and different.

Try a Taste of Salmon & Crab Tartar of cured salmon, selsey crab bonbon, noisette of salmon and herb buerre blanc to start and follow on with Pork head to Toe – confit cheek, braised shoulder, home cured bacon, rillettes of head & trotter – apple puree, crackling, sage & onion gratin & cider jus. Each day we have a specials board reflecting seasonal produce and dishes that the chefs want you to try – they are always interested in your feedback!

Apart from starters and mains there is a selection of indulgent desserts and Hampshire made ice cream or English Cheeses. The food is so good you may want to stay and relax in one of our 5* rooms – there are lots of pictures on our website so that you can choose the one that strikes your fancy…..take a look.
