The hotel is dripping with a rich history and stories abound of events such as the 18th Century Court Room and famous visitors from HG Wells to Hilaire Belloc and the Pilgrim Fathers.
The hotel now has 15 boutique style bedrooms all individually designed, featuring Hypnos beds, crisp Egyptian cotton sheets and cosy duvets. We blend the traditional with the modern with ﬂat screens TV’s, free wireless internet, and ﬂuffy dressing gowns and slippers.
Although we feature a beautiful high street location our rooms also beneﬁt with quiet rooms with views towards the amazing ruins of Cowdray.
Our team of chefs produce wonderful food for all to enjoy, locally sourced wherever possible, changed seasonally, a combination of every day dining and our Ala carte menu, we have food to suit all tastes and budgets. Our fantastic steaks have gained a ﬁerce reputation for there taste and texture and are always a true favourite with our regulars.
Our wine list has been put together with love and care are all hand picked, they offer great value, fantastic growers and vintages showcasing some of the best wines available. Our guests also enjoy the ambience and atmosphere of our dining room, but mostly the service we offer which is described as friendly, knowledgeable and professional The Angel is perfectly situated to enjoy all that this most wonderful area of West Sussex has to offer, theatre, Polo, Golf, walking, the beautiful coast, historic places of interest, national trust, the list goes on.
