Nestled in the heart of Borde Hill Garden, and run by Jeremy and Vera Ashpool, Jeremy’s Restaurant provides that perfect combination of a country idyll matched by creative cuisine and warm friendly service.
Ingredients are of the highest quality; produce is sourced as locally as possible – herbs, edible ﬂowers, lavender and wild garlic are grown and picked in the garden and Jeremy is particularly proud of the restaurant’s relationship with many of the local producers.
Regular forays to the gastronomic regions of Spain and France also result in exciting new ideas and ﬂavours being added to the menus and a wine list comprising an eclectic selection of wines from independent producers and wineries.
Menus change regularly and include the Daily Menu, £16 for two courses and £19 for three courses as well as a la carte and the Tuesday tasting menu on the ﬁrst Tuesday of every month which challenges Jeremy’s kitchen team, led by Jimmy and Simon, to push the boundaries of modern gastronomy. Regular events include monthly Friday night jazz, wine dinners and garden BBQs and the restaurant is a popular venue for weddings, parties and corporate events.
Jeremy and his wife Vera, who also runs the adjacent Café Elvira, and their team have a genuine affection for their customers, both new and those that have followed their culinary journey in Sussex over the last thirty years or so.
Much of this couple’s success comes from the combination of a true passion for food and for providing an extremely warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Jeremy’s is also extremely proud to announce their recent accolades, including being voted The Good Food Guide regional Readers’ Restaurant of the Year 2013 and head chef Jimmy Gray being crowned Sussex Young Chef of the Year 2013.
