A friendly arts club that offers life drawing to professionals and amateurs

Sussex County Arts Club is based in central Brighton and open to both professional and amateur artists. They hold various drop-in life drawing sessions with models throughout the week.

The classes are run every day including a variety of sessions which include life drawing with both long and short poses. There are also nude and costume painting sessions and a sculpture session.

“The sessions are very relaxed and are open to all abilities. It ranges from professionals to complete beginners,” explains Bill Donohoe, chairman of the club. “There is no booking required and artists just turn up on the day.”

The club is a non-profit organisation with the main aim of providing low cost sessions for the Brighton and Sussex community. Anyone can use the club and you do not have to be a member. They do however currently have about 150 members and probably twice as many more who come as non-members. Membership for those who want to play a more active role is £21 per year.

A list of all their current sessions can be found at www.sussexcountyartsclub.co.uk and their email address is info@sussexcountyartsclub.co.uk
