The Hawthorns Retirement Group have announced the appointment of Ian Turnbull as the General Manager of their retirement location in Eastbourne.

Previously the Manager & Executive Director at the Hydro Hotel in Eastbourne for the past 10 years, Ian has an impressive track record in hospitality over 30 years, working for such leading groups as Trust House Forte, Friendly Hotels, and Principal Hotels.

Ian is married with two teenage children, and has a wide range of interests locally. He is a trustee director for the local charity Eastbourne Mencap, and an active member with the Hailsham Harriers running club; throughout the year he runs half and full marathons, as well as competing in the Sussex Grand Prix races. Closer to home he also enjoys baking and gardening, and when time allows days out to National Trust venues and country walks with his family.
