Staff at Park Cameras to run between Burgess Hill and London to raise money for St. Peter & St. James’ Hospice

PUBLISHED: 10:31 12 January 2015 | UPDATED: 10:31 12 January 2015

Staff at Park Cameras are to attempt to run between both their stores in a single day, in an effort to raise as much money as possible for local charity St. Peter and St. James’ Hospice.

Staff at Park Cameras are known for providing expert advice and competitive low prices on a range of cameras and accessories, but on Thursday 29 January, they’ll be limbering up their leg muscles, dusting off their running shoes and working off those Christmas Dinners as they attempt to run between their Burgess Hill and Central London stores in just 1 working day. This equates to a distance of 45.7 miles!

Held at their flagship store in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, they will have a team comprised of 13 staff (including store manager Chris Reszke) from various departments within their business. They will then start the run in relay fashion from 9:00am on a treadmill located in the store. If the staff manage to complete the distance in one day, they will receive the accolade of being the fastest independent photo store in the UK!

Park Cameras HR manager Adel Charles (who is heading up the running team) said, “I am thrilled to be running for Park Cameras in aid of St. Peter & St. James’ Hospice. Throughout the business, our staff have varying degrees of running abilities, so running over 45 miles in just 8 hours, is no easy feat. However, knowing the money we will raise will be used to improve the lives of those living with progressive, life limiting illnesses, is the best part of all – despite how tired I might be after running (or walking) my leg of the journey!”

Their Burgess Hill store will be open for business as usual closing at 7:30pm, and the runners would certainly appreciate any support you wish to give and to cheer them on their way! To support Park Cameras’ challenge, please visit, or visit their Just Giving page
