Aerial photography with Skyvista

Here at Sussex Life we always try to give you a fresh take on the county. One way we do that is by using pictures taken from an elevated view in our town and village features. These pictures are supplied by a Sussex company, Skyvista.

Skyvista is a business run by Steve Miller based in Sussex which specialises in elevated photography. Whilst mainly involved in commercial surveying in the South East, the business is starting to take him further across the country only recently he has been working in Gloucestershire on behalf of a company based in London and hes soon off to Yorkshire on another assignment.
Steve got the idea from his love of flying: I was always taking pictures and started to think of other ways of providing aerial type shots that were more affordable than chartering a plane or helicopter, he says.
After exploring various options, I finally found telescopic mast systems which would then also enable me to get involved in other projects I had in mind. I began with one system, but as the business has grown we now have four different systems for different tasks rising up to almost 100ft.
We work with many estate agents and independent marketing businesses to provide images for portfolios and we sometimes even work with other photographers because we have the specialist equipment.
Providing pictures for Sussex Life magazine is always exciting because the locations are always varied its a given task that I enjoy and hopefully provides the readers with seeing things from a different angle so to speak.
Another side to Steves work is taking pictures at events. Skyvista covers many of the motor sport meetings at Goodwood and Steve is often seen wandering around with his portable system gathering pictures for magazines, local papers and for Goodwoods own photo library.
Steve adds: An elevated photograph of your home makes a good memento or maybe a gift for a friend or relative.
