A black tie concert will be held in the grounds of Wadhurst Castle on Saturday June 29, from 7pm, with the popular Sussex based actor and comedian, Hugh Dennis, duo Kit and McConnell and the highly acclaimed international opera performers Lend Us a Tenor.

The evening will include a champagne interval and an auction of some very special items, which will be conducted by James Braxton, director of the renowned auctioneers Dreweatts Bloomsbury.

Wadhurst Castle commands magnificent panoramic views of the beautiful Sussex countryside and guests are invited to picnic in the grounds from 4.30pm. Hospitality marquees will be also available and catered picnics can be pre-ordered.

Celebrations continue on Sunday June 30 with an afternoon tea and open garden event from 2pm to 5pm. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to visit the private gardens and see them at their best with the Fountain Garden, Rose Arbour (with a variety of different roses) and Lavender Walk all filled with colour and an unusual array of plants.

Delicious homemade teas will be served and a Pimm’s tent will be open to quench visitors’ thirst! Melodic sounds will be provided courtesy of Wadhurst brass band and there will also be a treasure trail and other activities for children.

Tickets for Saturday’s concert start from £55. Cost of entry for the open garden event is £4.50 per adult and £1 per child.
