PRUNELLA Scales, alumna of Moira House Girls School, and her husband Timothy West, patron of the National Piers Society, were guests of honour at Eastbourne's Grand Hotel for the premiere of Pier and Promenades...


Prunella Scales summed up the whole experience when she said, What a wonderful afternoon we all had!

PRUNELLA Scales, alumna of Moira House Girls School, and her husband Timothy West, patron of the National Piers Society, were guests of honour at Eastbournes Grand Hotel for the premiere of Pier and Promenades. This multi-media project was created, researched and performed by MoHo students with the support of Musikata and the Heritage Lottery Fund.Moira House Principal Lesley Watson welcomed the Mayor and Mayoress of Eastbourne, the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex and local MP Nigel Waterson for a jolly afternoon of seaside fun, frivolity and musical entertainment. The enchanting Pier and Promenadestakes the audience on a musical and cinematic stroll along Eastbournes seafront looking at the history of six of the towns most famous landmarks from the pier to the Grand Hotel. The film and a major exhibition of photographs from the project will be shown at The Towner Gallery from 7 May.Prunella Scales summed up the whole experience when she said, What a wonderful afternoon we all had!
