Why not try a different date this Valentine’s Day? We take a look at 4 ideas with a difference
Does ‘date night’ need a shot in the arm? Proud Cabaret Brighton will be only too happy to oblige. The former Hanbury Ballroom venue in Kemptown is a burlesque supper club with glamorous retro décor and a panoply of sultry stars.
Opened in 1921 – the first screening was a Charlie Chaplin film, The Kid – this beautifully refurbished independent picture house provides a truly cinematic experience reminiscent of the Golden Age, all red plush and dim lighting. Holding hands is optional.
The Bluebell Railway
The Bluebell Railway’s Golden Arrow Pullman dining train is the perfect vehicle for a vintage romance. The train recreates the Golden Arrow, which once linked London and Paris. On board you will enjoy fine food and wine served to the highest standards.
Hot air ballooning, Petworth
From a site just north of Petworth, the British School of Ballooning offers VIP rides for two over stunning countryside, taking in views over Petworth House with its romaning deer, the ruins at Cowdray Park and Bignor Roman Villa. Soar above the familiar countryside with only your pilot for company - you could even enjoy a picnic at the site, in a tranquil private field, before you take to the skies.
