Jo Grace took this photo (above) of Arundel rooftops from her Sparks Yard third floor window. She says it’s so pretty that it makes it hard to get any work done.

Dear Madam,
This year Sussex Day falls on a Monday, not the best day for people to organise an event, but every parish council in Sussex has a Sussex flag to fly on our county day. Last year Worthing did us proud as I noticed three such flags flying for most of the summer.

Would Sussex Life be willing to feature the Sussex flag in a corner of your June issue and perhaps inspire all those who have a Sussex flag to fly it?

If all the parishes and towns across Sussex could fly their flags it would let visitors to Sussex know that they are in the finest county in the kingdom.

Incidentally, Eric Pickles, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, flies every county flag for those who have a county day at his offices in London.

I do hope that, as the county’s premier magazine, Sussex Life will be able to continue to support our county day.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,

Ian Steedman, Worthing

Dear Sussex Life,

Recently I have been visiting Brighton and yesterday I purchased the April issue of Sussex Life. My first impression is it is very interesting to read. I returned to my apartment in Bristol yesterday and this morning I took up the offer of six issues for £6, which for me is an excellent offer.
