With late-night shopping, fairs, Christmas markets and plenty of food and drink, we’ve rounded up some of the best festive offerings in Sussex
Brighton - 17 November-23 December
Brighton Christmas Market returns for an 8th consecutive year and is being held in Jubilee Square. 22 stall holders are expected along with a Santa’s grotto and snow machines to increase the festive feel.
Farlington - 18 November
Head to Farlington School in Horsham between 11am and 3pm to meet Father Christmas and pick up Christmas gifts from a wide array of professional and school stands. Enjoy lunch or afternoon tea in the café and take a visit to BeerFest Corner or the mulled wine stand for something more festive.
Weald & Downland Living Museum - 24-26 November
Open each day from 10.30am to 4pm is this Christmas Market with well over 100 stalls selling gifts, food and crafts. You’ll never be too far from some festive music and there will be treats to sample along the way. Tickets cost £6 for adults, £4 for children and under 5s go free.
The Cooden Beach Hotel, Bexhill - 25 November
With entry at only £1, this 10.30am-3.30pm event is a must if you’re in the area. Purchase some of your Christmas gifts with jewellery, stocking fillers, homemade preserves and more on offer.
South of England Showground - 25-26 November
With hundreds of indoor stalls, the South of England Showground’s Winter Fair is an ideal place to pick up gifts and stocking fillers this season. Expect an electric atmosphere with street entertainment and live music on show. Head to the undercover food court for a refreshment or two.
Chichester - 2-10 December
Happening across nine days, Chichester City Centre’s market is going to be packed with festive goodies. Lining East Street and North Street, expect a huge range of festive stalls selling seasonal food, gifts, crafts and decorations.
Fishers Farm - 9-24 December
The Magic of Christmas & Pantomime at Fishers Farm is the perfect place to take the kids this Christmas with music, jokes and a whole load of fairy-tale scenery. Take a trip to the North Pole Post with letters to Santa and head down to the Saddle Rooms Restaurant for a festive feast.
Rye - 9 December
A spectacular event with plenty of entertainment and festive fun for all the family to enjoy, featuring a reindeer trail, rides, Punch & Judy, High Street races and even some magic.
