Sixth Form students from Bede’s achieved the best A Level grades in the School’s history with 77% of results graded at A*-B and 49% of grades at A* or A.

Declared in the top 1% of schools nationally for Value Added at A Level earlier in 2015, Bede’s has seen significant improvements in Sixth Form attainment over the last six years – up from 63% A*-B in 2010 – with records set across a range of academic departments in 2015 including Maths, Art and English where more than 60% of all grades were at A* or A.

Straight A* grades were achieved by individuals including Abigail Burton, who achieved straight A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Art and who will now study Pure Maths at Oxford; Anna Moody, who achieved straight A*s or equivalents in Pre-U English Literature, Theatre Studies and Religious Studies and will now study English at Cambridge; and Meg Bradley, who achieved straight A*s in Biology, Maths and Chemistry and will go on to study Medicine at Southampton.

Bede’s Headmaster Dr Richard Maloney said of the results: “We are all absolutely delighted that Bede’s pupils have achieved such outstanding A Level results this year. Their success – comfortably the best in the School’s history – represents all that is good about our school. Our pupils’ contributions have been manifold in so many areas of school life and their academic achievements are just reward for their commitment and hard work.”
